Job Title: Director of Sports

The Director – Sports will lead the planning, development, and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision, strategy, and policy framework for the sports department.
  • Oversee and manage sports programs, tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum to ensure excellence in athletic performance.
  • Manage and maintain sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds to optimize utilization and ensure compliance with national and international standards.
  • Identify, recruit, and mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels and foster a culture of excellence in sports.
  • Cultivate a fitness-conscious environment through collaboration with coaches, trainers, and faculty members.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports-related topics.
  • Evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff to ensure adherence to safety regulations and ethical sports practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or sports management is required.
  • A proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams is necessary.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are crucial for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics is desirable.
  • A record of representing the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or State and/or National championships is an asset.
  • Familiarity with UGC, AIU, and national sports policies is essential.
