Our organization seeks a dedicated and skilled Fabric Optimisation Specialist to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in delivering the customer offer by developing direct partnerships with fabric mills.The Fabric Optimisation Specialist will drive benefits in simplification, cost reduction, lead time optimisation, and quality improvement for large volume value retailers.This position involves collaborating closely with design teams to provide them with a new development toolkit to create range building designs.We require a strategic thinker who can understand and interpret business goals to develop effective Raw Material strategies.This includes partnering with internal and external stakeholders to source and negotiate Raw Material costs, leadtimes, and quality standards.The ideal candidate will have formal qualifications in Textile Engineering or a related field and 5-7 years of experience in a Textile/Raw Material/Fabric role within medium-large volume retail businesses.A strong understanding of the Raw Material supply chain, including cut & sew, woven, and denim fabrications, is essential.Demonstrated expertise in Supplier sourcing and relationship management is also required.The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and commercial skills, as well as strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.We offer a competitive compensation package and opportunities for professional growth and development.In this role, success is measured by Sales, Profit, VOC, VOS, and VOT metrics.Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Insights: Develop Raw Material strategies that align with business goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Internal: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source and negotiate Raw Materials.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - External: Partner with external suppliers to secure high-quality Raw Materials.
  • Raw Material Standards: Establish quality and standards for Raw Materials.
  • Raw Material Colour & Print Standards: Work with suppliers to set up colour and print approval processes.
  • Quality: Ensure all new fabrics meet technical performance standards.
Requirements
  • Formal qualification in Textile Engineering or related field.
  • 5-7 years' experience in Textile/Raw Material/Fabric role.
  • Strong understanding of Raw Material supply chain.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Supplier sourcing and relationship management.
