Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced database expert to lead our data management initiatives. As a Senior Database Developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing databases that meet the needs of our business.

  • Design and implement SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB databases, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Maintain databases, including regular backups and restores, to ensure business continuity.
  • Manage deployments and ensure best practices are followed, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the security team to ensure robust database security measures are in place.
  • Oversee database migrations between servers and versions, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with databases, providing timely solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Work with vendor support as needed to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to databases, ensuring knowledge sharing and consistency.
  • Partner with other IT team members, including the development team, to ensure system availability and performance meet business requirements.
  • Create Change Management Requests with IT and Development teams to ensure smooth implementation of changes.
  • Support reporting team members with database queries and data requirements, ensuring accurate and timely insights.
  • Provide Power BI (and other reporting platforms) support, helping users get the most out of their tools.
  • Work with the development team to integrate AI capabilities into our systems.
  • Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Optimize Power BI data models for performance and scalability, ensuring fast and reliable results.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI using Power Query and DAX, providing a single source of truth.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across dashboards, maintaining the integrity of our information.
  • Implement row-level security and manage access permissions in Power BI, ensuring secure data access.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a DBA, with a focus on SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Excellent knowledge of database administration, design, and maintenance for SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with database migrations and deployments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information.
  • Flexibility to work during US Central time zone hours.
  • Experience working with vendor support is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Change Management processes.
  • Experience supporting reporting team members with database queries and data requirements.
  • Experience providing Power BI (and other reporting platforms) support.
  • Familiarity with AI integrations.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
  • Experience in creating interactive dashboards and visualizations.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
