We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAD Designer to join our team.

Job Description

The Senior CAD Designer will play a critical role in developing detailed and accurate 2D/3D CAD models and drawings for sheet metal components. Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting project briefs and customer drawings to develop manufacturable designs.
  • Creating accurate 2D and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks for base frames, acoustic canopies, electrical cabinets, and portable light towers.
  • Ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and design intent alignment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques, including material types and gauges, bend allowances and K-factors, weld joint planning, and laser-friendly nesting. They should also be able to define detailed dimensions, GD&T, and fit tolerances, as well as use industry-standard welding symbols for MIG, TIG, fillet, groove, and corner welds.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience as a CAD Designer in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks, with a focus on Part, Assembly, Drawing, and Sheet Metal modules.
  • A strong understanding of fabrication and welding techniques, including weld joints, symbols, and sequencing.
