Front-End Developer (MERN Stack)

We are looking for a skilled front-end developer to join our team. As a full-stack developer, you will be responsible for building delightful user interfaces in React + TypeScript with Tailwind and component libraries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design front-end architecture that scales: state management (Redux / Zustand), code-splitting, server-side rendering/server-side generation where it helps.
  • Ship full-stack features: create REST/GraphQL endpoints in Express/Node, wire them to MongoDB, and surface data in the UI.
  • Integrate AI-powered interactions via OpenAI or comparable services.
  • Collaborate tightly with product, design, and the founding team; convert Figma files and lo-fi sketches into production code.
  • Own quality: write unit/integration tests, set up continuous integration pipelines, and perform code reviews to maintain a healthy codebase.
  • Optimize performance—from lighthouse scores to database queries.
  • Document and mentor: keep the README, Storybook, and API documentation fresh; coach junior developers and contractors as we scale.
Requirements
  • 3-6 years of experience building production web applications, at least 2 years with React and Node.js/Express.
  • Strong grasp of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox/Grid), and responsive design.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs; comfortable with MongoDB or another NoSQL database.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.) and containerization (Docker).
  • Solid testing discipline—Jest, React Testing Library, Supertest, or similar.
  • Ability to translate product specifications into incremental, releasable user stories and ship quickly in an agile setup.
  • Clear, concise communicator who thrives in an early-stage, high-ownership environment.
