About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of a cybersecurity platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be building and scaling a small, high-performing team, owning end-to-end engineering execution, and laying the foundation for product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Owning and executing the engineering roadmap in alignment with company objectives
  • Building and scaling a lean engineering team, hiring and mentoring talent
  • Driving the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable software products
  • Establishing best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture
  • Collaborating with founders, product, and design to translate business needs into technical execution
  • Making technical decisions on architecture, tools, and platform design
  • Setting and tracking engineering KPIs for velocity, quality, and reliability
  • Ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards

Success in the First 12 Months:

  • Building and scaling an initial engineering team of 5–7 engineers
  • Delivering the MVP release of Visiblaze IQ and setting the roadmap for enterprise readiness
  • Establishing secure, automated CI/CD pipelines and monitoring baselines
  • Defining and documenting engineering best practices and architecture standards
  • Demonstrating measurable improvements in team velocity and product quality

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least 4+ years hands-on development experience
  • At least 2–3 years in engineering management (team building, delivery)
  • Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent
  • Experience delivering SaaS products (cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance preferred)
  • Strong foundation in system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native design
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable data modeling
  • Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL
  • Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or similar cloud environments
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
