Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our Regulatory and Compliance team at Del Monte Foods Private Limited.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will oversee monitoring and management of regulatory matters related to recipe compliance, labeling, product registration, and food safety in multiple markets (Domestic retail, HORECA, MT, Ecom, Key Accounts), International.
  • They will ensure effective execution of regulatory change management and due diligence for scientific-regulatory compliance needs covering India, MENA, Philippines, Australia-New Zealand.
  • This role involves managing the regulatory submission process for new products or formulations, ensuring timely renewal, new application, and modification of FSSAI licenses, CFA, and 3P manufacturing, Plastic waste Management registration, Tea board license.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, national, and international regulations (FSSAI, USFDA, CODEX, Legal Metrology, CPCB etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards of ingredients and recipe compliance as per Country regulations.
  • Manage the regulatory submission process for new products or formulations.
  • Ensure timely Return filing of FSSAI license, Biannual FSSAI test reports, and PWM EPR compliance.
  • Ensure all food products meet safety, health, and quality regulations.
Product Labeling
  • Review and approve product labels to ensure compliance with ingredient, allergen, and nutritional information regulations for domestic market according to requirements of FSSAI & LM and for Exports as per the regulations of country of Export.
  • Ensure that packaging and marketing materials meet regulatory requirements as per FSSAI, LM, CPCB, and avoid misleading claims.
Audit & Inspection
  • Lead internal audits to verify recipe and artwork compliance with food safety standards.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the actual label with periodic Audit or validation of labels, recipes, and Regulatory parameters.
Training & Awareness
  • Develop and deliver training programs to employees on regulatory requirements, food safety, and best practices.
  • Ensure cross-departmental teams (e.g., production, quality assurance, R&D) are informed of regulatory updates and changes.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare regulatory compliance report of New suppliers and 3Ps for regulatory compliance management for Finished Goods.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of regulatory approvals, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Track changes in regulations and communicate the impact of these changes to relevant stakeholders.
Regulatory Affairs Strategy
  • Collaborate with product development and production and QA team to ensure new products comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Work with legal and R&D teams to develop regulatory strategies for product innovations or market expansions.
Risk Management
  • Identify potential regulatory risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries, notices, and manage product recalls, if necessary.
  • Represent organization concerns to authority by giving feedback on relevant notices/regulations to minimize the impact.

Qualifications:

  • B.Tech (Food Tech), Msc (Food Tech), BSc, MSc (Food science, Chemistry, Life science).
  • 6-7 years in regulatory & compliances preferably from Food Industry.

Salary: ₹1,200,000 - ₹1,500,000 per annum based on experience.
