Storage Expert Job

Job Description:

  • We are looking for a storage professional with extensive experience in managing and supporting storage operations.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with allocation, reclaim, LUN expansion, and deletion, as well as storage disk/LDEVs formatting on various storage systems.
  • They should also be familiar with zoning via Cisco SAN Switches, both command-line interface (CLI) and graphical user interface (GUI), and CCI HORCM.
  • In addition, the candidate should have experience with storage replication technologies like GAD, HUR, True Copy, and Local Replication.
  • Strong monitoring skills, including familiarity with OPS Center Analyzer and Hi-Track, are essential.
  • The selected candidate must have excellent troubleshooting skills, including the ability to check performance issues at the storage level and IO Errors.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to manage shifts independently are mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage day-to-day administration of SAN and storage environments, including collaborating with customer support teams, participating in problem-solving and troubleshooting, and supporting design, operation, workflow, and issue resolution for storage infrastructure.
  2. Help maintain system-level maintenance for storage infrastructure, track existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth, and maintain storage documentation, procedures, and reporting.
  3. Provide Storage Area Network Configuration and Administration, and perform capacity analysis, monitor storage subsystem and SAN switch capacity, and perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance.
  4. Investigate and diagnose raised problem(s) or problem records for root cause analysis, and mentor and train junior admins.
  5. Oversee the design, installation, configuration, and de-provisioning of storage solutions, and ensure IT Service continuity management, including monitoring of disaster recovery solutions, data movement, and replication.

Skill Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in handling majority of activities mentioned in the scope above.
  • Experience in handling storage and Brocade switches infrastructure.
  • Exposure to Operations and Management activities on storage(s), unified compute platforms, various Host O/S including basic cluster management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Storage technical certification is desirable.
