Structural Steel Detailer Position

The Structural Steel Detailer is responsible for performing a complete range of detailing tasks using software like aSa or CADS RC during the project life cycle. This includes creating accurate placing drawings and bar lists necessary for the fabrication and placement of reinforcing steel bars and related accessories in accordance with customer contract documents, industry standards and established practices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review scope and details of work involved and estimate hours required to complete given schedule.
  2. Review contract drawing and details thoroughly ahead of detailing or estimating and raise questions on ambiguous items.
  3. Prepare simple to complex rebar placing drawings/estimates of structural components using customer structural and architectural drawings, specifications and other hand-off documents.
  4. Responsible for drawing and BBS placing in clear and concise manner that can be easily read and interpreted by customer, engineer, architect, contractor and placer.
  5. Responsible for creating bar lists and order form for accessory items in accordance with project pour sequence and schedule.
  6. Follow process and procedures defined for self-checking and ensure production of quality detailing or estimating.
  7. Deliver quality output within given timeline and proactively report any deviations to respective Team leader.
Requirements
  • Experience working/Detailed in Large and Complex Projects with 2+ years experience in Structural Steel Detailing preferred.
  • University Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Certificate or training in Rebar Detailing or Estimating software e.g. aSa, CADS RC, Revit.
