Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our Buying team in a Management Trainee role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Timely delivery of samples by vendors is crucial for successful product development and sales.
  • The candidate will be responsible for setting standards for Quality of Merchandise with QA to ensure high-quality products meet customer expectations.
  • Maintaining awareness of competitor activities is essential to stay ahead in the market and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • The selected candidate will identify and develop new vendors to expand our supplier base and improve product offerings.
  • Negotiating range merchandise prices with suppliers to achieve the best possible deals.
  • Product presentation and packaging play a significant role in attracting customers; the trainee will work on developing innovative packaging ideas.
  • The trainee will update the front-end staff on key product benefits to enhance customer engagement and sales.
  • Supporting negotiations and ensuring the best costs and margins for the company.
  • Collaborating closely with Merchandising teams to manage stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns effectively.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Textile or a related field is required for this role.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in buying or merchandising is necessary to succeed in this position.
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills including product knowledge, negotiation, and costing abilities.
