Electrical Engineer Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a highly skilled Electrical Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, with experience in power plants, substations and MV power distribution systems.

  • Ensure the availability of all electrical equipment at maximum efficiency, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Set high standards for results and performance, with regular evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Enhance knowledge and skills, both personally and professionally.
  • The successful candidate will be able to efficiently utilize resources at minimum cost, while maintaining quality of job, product and services.
  • Leadership qualities are essential for managing shop-floor workforce and executive staff, using good interpersonal skills to maintain constructive relationships.
  • High level of understanding of technical knowledge of plant equipment and processes is required, along with standard maintenance practices and latest developments in equipment and technology.
  • Co-ordination and co-operation skills are necessary for implementing and sustaining World Class practices, as well as statutory requirements.
  • Major challenges include safety of personnel and equipment, particularly in highly corrosive environments.
Functional Skills:
  • Technical knowledge of electrical systems, including thermal/gas-based power plants, substations and MV power distribution systems.
  • Operation and maintenance of Steam and Gas turbine driven Generators and protection systems.
  • Switchyard design and operation.
  • Transformer installation and maintenance.
  • Panels, motors, switchgears and panel boards.
  • VFDs, UPS and battery chargers.
  • DG Sets, heaters and heat tracings.
  • Protection relays and switchgear functioning and coordination.
  • Basics of electrical engineering, qualification and years of experience.
  • Computer applications for report generation and maintenance records.
  • SAP based material management, planning and maintenance.
  • Manpower Management and Resource management.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-7 years of hands on experience in Power Plants, with B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
