Role: Data Scientist

About the Position:

The role involves leveraging data, analytics, and artificial intelligence technologies to extract insights, build predictive models, and develop AI-powered solutions. Utilizing exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to gain a deeper understanding of complex problems and develop effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing business understanding and applying data preparation, modeling, evaluation, and deployment skills following CRISP-DM methodologies.
  • Utilizing optimization methodologies including linear/integer/nonlinear programming and heuristics to find the best solution to business problems.
  • Gathering business requirements, transforming them into technical plans, processing data, engineering features, testing hypotheses, and translating findings into actionable tasks.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and suggesting pipeline enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Creating and enforcing standards to maintain high-quality work.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field, with at least 2 years of experience in data science or operations research.
  • Proven experience in optimization methodologies, including the use of various optimization libraries.
  • Strong Python coding skills, including object-oriented programming concepts and proficiency with machine learning libraries and basic SQL knowledge.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with theoretical concepts behind machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience in delivering CRISP-DM projects and working in Agile environments, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Ability to gather business requirements, transform them into technical plans, process data, engineer features, evaluate models, test hypotheses, and deploy models.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply independent research and provide recommendations for diverse scope issues.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of other programming languages, such as R or SQL.
  • Experience working with Spark (PySpark).
  • Background in data engineering, AI engineering, or business intelligence-related fields is a plus.
  • Understanding and experience in applying data science/machine learning methods to supply chain management, manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, inventory, or sustainability.
  • Strong statistical/mathematical background.
  • Experience working in matrix organizational structures.
