Construction Site Manager

As a construction manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day construction projects on-site. Your role will involve ensuring that all budget, risk, schedule, design, safety, and quality management requirements are met.

You will work closely with site contractors to ensure they are working effectively and efficiently. This will involve resolving any issues that may arise while taking into account client expectations and company procedures.

In this role, you will also collaborate with stakeholders to monitor, review, and resolve any site-related issues. You will utilize project management software to set up site procedures to ensure the program, cost, design, safety, and quality are aligned.

Additionally, you will be responsible for holding internal and external construction meetings and developing a master construction schedule for the site as well as client tracking.

This role requires a strategic approach to deliverables as your key asset. You will need to prepare a master construction schedule for the site as well as client tracking. You will also conduct weekly site and report meetings with consultants, contractors, and agencies to review the progress per the agreed schedule and proactively follow up on all pending issues.

Furthermore, you will review the site's progress payments to ensure claims from subcontractors reflect the actual progress. In this role, you will take the lead in tracking the progress of coordination drawings submitted by local design consultants, and to obtain and follow up on drawings, details, or clarifications, as needed.

You will then need to review these drawings to ensure they are foolproof. You will also manage the technical handover and client sign-off at the end of a project. Equally, you will review work method statements from subcontractors.

On top of these responsibilities, you will also review Value of Work (VO) documents and ensure they are valid; set up the site diary and record system; and other duties as directed. This role calls for a champion of safety and quality management.

You will be responsible for reviewing Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation from a constructability point of view, providing the work scope; ensuring safe work method statements; holding regular safety meetings; preparing monthly health and safety reports; and ensuring construction works match client expectations.

• A degree in architectural, civil engineering, MEP engineering, or related discipline;
• Or a mix of formal education and work experience exceeding five years;
• Experience in construction site management;
• Completed safety training;
• Acquired construction estimation skills;
• Strong understanding of development management, including financial, appraisal, risk management, and negotiation;
• Proficient in MS Project, MS Excel, and other scheduling software;
• Ability to interpret, coordinate, and discuss construction drawings;
• Design contracts and commercial negotiations expertise;
• Market analysis and marketing process participation.
