Job Title: Principal Data Governance Architect

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Data Governance Architect to lead the design and development of a scalable, secure, and robust data governance platform.


About the Role
  • Develop and implement scalable data governance tools and frameworks that meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data compliance, security, and usability.
  • Lead initiatives around metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging to drive business value.
  • Define and evangelize standards and best practices across data engineering teams to promote consistency and quality.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of governance tooling - from prototyping to production deployment, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership across the organization, fostering growth and innovation.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years focused on data governance or related tooling, including experience with modern data stacks and open-source data governance frameworks.
  • Strong expertise in backend development (Python, Java, or Scala) and familiar with RESTful API design, as well as cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their native data governance offerings.
  • Proficient in building distributed systems for metadata management, data lineage, and quality tracking, with a strong understanding of data engineering concepts and principles.
  • Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
