Financial Reporting and Accounting Professional

This individual will oversee the financial reporting and accounting for private equity funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accounting for multiple private equity funds, including maintaining the general ledger, recording journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
  • Assist in the valuation process of portfolio companies, ensuring accurate and timely updates to the financial records.
  • Lead the preparation of audit workpapers and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely completion of audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and assist in the preparation of filings with regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Monitor cash flows and liquidity positions for funds, ensuring adequate funding for operations and investment activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and accounting practices, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with the investment team, legal team, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information is shared across the organization.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 2 years in private equity or alternative investments.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and private equity accounting principles; proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate complex financial information.
  • Ability to think critically and provide solutions to complex accounting and financial reporting issues.

This position requires a strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working in private equity or alternative investments, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
