Job Title: Lead Medical Underwriter

As a medical underwriting lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new underwriting processes that are more customer-centric and technologically enabled. This will involve applying clinical expertise to make informed decisions, evaluating current underwriting practices and market comparisons, and analyzing data to revise underwriting guidelines.

  • Create and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Turn Around Times (TATs)
  • Develop and integrate underwriting systems and rules with sourcing interfaces
  • Provide clinical and medical analysis for pricing and risk assessment selections
  • Assist in the development of new or revised policies and guidelines based on utilization and clinical trends

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medicine (MBBS preferred) or equivalent qualification
  • 10-15 years experience in medical underwriting in health insurance
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage change and work effectively in a team
