Job Opportunity

The Shift Manager is a vital role within our operations team, responsible for overseeing and managing shift activities to ensure seamless functionality of infrastructure, timely issue resolution, adherence to safety and compliance standards, and effective coordination with internal teams and vendors.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Shift Operations Leadership: Supervise all data center facility operations during assigned shifts, monitoring and controlling power, cooling, ELV, safety, security, and critical infrastructure performance.
  2. Incident Response and Resolution: Serve as the primary escalation point for any operational or facility-related issues during shifts, preliminary troubleshooting failures in UPS, HVAC, generators, fire suppression systems, and other critical infrastructure.
  3. Team Management and Supervision: Lead technicians during shifts, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to shift schedules.
  4. Service Level Agreement (SLA) Compliance: Ensure adherence to SLAs related to uptime, response times, and facility management.
  5. Process Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EOPs, MOPs during shifts, ensuring compliance with ITIL frameworks and industry best practices.
  6. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Support: Develop and maintain 52-week PM schedules, ensuring preventive maintenance activities are carried out as per schedule, overseeing corrective maintenance activities, and minimizing downtime.
  7. Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness: Enforce workplace safety protocols, conducting on-shift safety checks, including fire suppression, access controls, and emergency exits.
  8. Regulatory and Compliance Adherence: Ensure adherence to industry standards, ISO 27001, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, etc.
  9. Customer Service and Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during shifts, addressing customer queries, and coordinating with internal teams for resolution.
  10. Shift Reports and Documentation: Maintain and update shift logs detailing operational activities, incidents, and maintenance work.
  11. Vendor Management and Performance Tracking: Coordinate with vendors for maintenance and support activities, ensuring vendors adhere to SLAs and deliver services according to contractual agreements.
  12. Budget Efficiency and Cost Control: Ensure efficient use of resources during shifts to minimize unnecessary operational costs, reporting any cost-saving opportunities or inefficiencies to the Site In-Charge.
  13. Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) Monitoring: Monitor power consumption and cooling efficiency to maintain optimal PUE.
  14. Business Review Participation and Stakeholder Coordination: Provide operations-based reports for quarterly business reviews (QBRs), assisting in analyzing operational trends and identifying areas for improvement.
  15. Invoicing and Financial Coordination: Ensure vendors submit their invoices post-completion of activity delivery or goods, verifying vendor work completion before invoice approvals.
  16. Procurement and Purchase Order Processing: Identify requirements for critical spares, consumables, and other operational necessities, raising NFA/PR for approval based on stock levels and operational need.
  17. New Infrastructure Delivery: Validate designs and infrastructure layouts against specifications and operational best practices, identifying and documenting snags during execution and commissioning activities.

This position requires 6-12 years of experience in managing shift operations of data centers, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and excellent leadership and communication skills.
