As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for all aspects of buying merchandise and coordinating with vendors for designated departments. Your primary focus will be on finding the best resources at the best prices to ensure high-quality products that meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To contribute effectively to the development of divisional Buying and Merchandising strategy
  • Work closely with the merchandising team to guarantee that all deliveries satisfy assigned purchase orders
  • Evaluate future product offerings by conducting research on customer needs and technological trends
  • Develop pricing strategies on various product lines in collaboration with the marketing department and management, aiming to reach agreements with suppliers for optimal pricing
  • Sourcing the right product at the right time to meet customer demands is a crucial aspect of this role
  • Maximize current sourcing channels and identify new opportunities to expand our product offerings
  • Support negotiations and work with the supply base to achieve the best costs and margins possible
  • Collaborate with designers on developing styles, design research trips, fabric advice, and informing best sellers for move-on styles
  • Work closely with merchandising on managing stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns
  • Monitor competitors' activities through market research to track trends, forecasting, color, and fabric
  • Develop promotional plans and review and adjust season plans and weekly plans accordingly
  • Vendor identification and development are critical components of this role
  • OBTAINING THE RIGHT RANGE OF MERCHANDISE AFTER EFFECTIVE NEGOTIATION IS ESSENTIAL
  • Work with marketing and design to develop Visual Merchandising promotions in line with theme and product launches
  • Ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors is crucial to the success of this role
  • Set standards for quality of merchandise with QA
  • Reconcile to store plans and fix departmental financial plans as needed
  • Support negotiations and work with the supply base to ensure best costs and margins are achieved
  • Manage stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns to maximize efficiency
  • Conduct annual reviews of supplier performance with QA to ensure high-quality products
  • Pursue and recover all money due from vendors as a result of performance penalties or markdown and promotional contributions

Education Requirements: NIFT / Pearl (B. Design / MFM)

Experience: 8-12 years in kids' wear
