Job Opportunity: Design Engineer

The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive support to the engineering function. This includes collaborating with sales teams during the RFQ stage, as well as reviewing designs and manufacturing processes.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with sales teams for sales and pre-engineering support during RFQ stage
  • Design review and manufacturing process evaluation with sales and operations teams
  • Project Engineering – datasheet review, customer spec review, and technical review
  • Review and creation of TA drawings and manufacturing drawings
  • Creation and review of Bill of materials in ERP
  • Preparation of detailed manufacturing drawings
  • Development of design calculations for design development/evaluation
  • Creation of Design Plan and review of design inputs and outputs
  • Manufacturing and field service support during assembly/commissioning
  • Innovative changes in existing products for improvements and easy manufacture
  • Responsible for timely delivery and quality outputs
  • Design document preparation and operation and maintenance manuals for the product
  • Attending meetings and conferences to develop knowledge and skills
  • Weekly reporting on project status and other Engineering KPIs
  • Customer visits for resolving technical issues
  • Work with global locations to understand product requirements and engineering needs

Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution
  • Familiarity with hydraulic power packs and systems
  • Preparation of specification of hydraulic power systems
  • Preparation and review of P&ID diagrams for hydraulic systems
  • Sizing, selection, and preparation of specification of hydraulic power unit instruments and control elements
  • Basic flow and pressure drop calculations for hydraulic system
  • Familiarity with hazardous and non-hazardous area classification of instruments
  • Preparation and review of general arrangement drawing of hydraulic power systems
  • Experience in control valves, actuators, and pneumatic circuits is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Solid works & AutoCAD
  • Experience in bill of materials and part number creation in ERP
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Good writing skills for design documents and manuals
  • Will to travel globally
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements
