Design Lead - Solar

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Lead to oversee the engineering activities of our Solar Power Plants.

  • Job Title: Design Lead - Solar

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Experience: 8–20 years of experience in design aspects of Solar PV Power Plants or Power Distribution Projects is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and executing engineering activities, facilitating model development, and coordinating with other departments. They will also ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents, aligning them with project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Timely Delivery of Engineering Drawings & Documents
  2. Ensure deliveries are aligned to Project Schedule
  3. Review drawings by Design Engineers & Draughts Persons
  4. Checking of design & sizing calculations of engineering electrical equipment and obtaining approvals from the client
  5. Review of Vendor deliverables pertaining to Engineering
  6. Capable of Multitasking and deliver multiple things on time
  7. Estimate and Plan man-hour requirements
  8. Review BOQ and submit to contracts team and providing technical clarifications
  9. Coordinate with multiple disciplines for ensuring inter-departmental checks
  10. Provide support & clarifications to the Site Execution team
  11. Check pre-award evaluation of vendors (w.r.t. technical specifications requirement of the client) and forward the validation document to Supply Chain Management
  12. Inspect equipment from the finalized vendor after submission of validation document of the vendor
  13. Clarify issues w.r.t. the design & requirements of the client to the Site Execution Team
  14. Collect inputs for project details (Soil report, boundary coordinates, Topo Survey etc.) from client & Section Head
  15. Coordinating with Operations team and informing Design specifications for obtaining approval
  16. Collect inputs for project details (General Arrangement Drawings) from Vendors
  17. Provide support to Electrical DC, AC & Instrumentation for reviewing Vendor drawings
  18. Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking & reviewing of design & drawings of the project

Technical Expertise:

The Design Lead shall have technical expertise in Engineering activities for civil & structural covering control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads and drainage, outdoor steel structures and miscellaneous works related to the Solar Power Plant.
