This position involves leading a senior engineering team in production and collaboration, focusing on projects with the Hong Kong Team. The successful candidate will also be responsible for mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Feasibility Studies
  • Prepare feasibility study reports according to agreed formats and review them with the Local Structures Head.
  • Collaborate with the Hong Kong Team to develop design specifications compliant with employer requirements, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Agree and monitor the scope of works with the Local Structures Head.
  • Clearly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Local Structures Head and Hong Kong Team to facilitate detailed design.
  • Conduct detailed design according to client requirements, adhering to standard codes, QA, and technical reviews, with sign-off by the Local Structures Head.
  • Review and monitor calculations, including QA, technical reviews, and sign-off.
  • Ensure project costing information is completed accurately and on time, keeping the Hong Kong Team informed about design progress.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and review input from team members.
  • Lead the design process, encouraging the team to deliver cost-effective solutions within agreed timelines.
  • Adhere to document control and QA processes, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence are issued and filed appropriately, while coaching junior staff in their usage.
  • Manage a team of Engineers and Revit Technicians.
Essential Competencies
  • Proven experience in Building Structures design, preferably in a similar role or with a strong track record.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in technical structural software, including RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent knowledge of technical terminology.
  • Demonstrated management, communication, and technical skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as required by workload.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with membership in an accredited engineering body.
  • Possession of British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is desirable.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
