Software Engineering Project Leader

As a program leader, you will oversee the execution of software engineering projects and initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on priorities, project visibility, delivery objectives, and achievement of targeted outcomes. You will manage project statuses, financial forecasts, risk mitigation plans, team member communications, and process adherence.
You will report to a senior management role and follow a hybrid working schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Program Strategy and Planning
- Define and govern the scope, goals, and roadmap of software projects.
- Lead project-level planning and prioritization in collaboration with engineering and product leadership.
- Collaborative Execution
- Catalyze efforts across multiple software development teams and technical members.
- Facilitate milestone planning and progress tracking.
- Ensure cross-team understanding, visibility, and transparency throughout the project lifecycle
- Delivery Management
- Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Promote delivery excellence through adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and internal processes.
- Resolve project blockers, manage interdependencies, and escalate.
- Team Member Communication
- Promote communication between engineering, product, and team members.
- Provide detailed updates on status, risks, and project decisions to all levels, including executives.
- Align all team members around important outcomes and delivery expectations.
- Risk and Issue Management
- Manage project issues.
- Maintain risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field is required.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 5+ years of experience in program or project management in software engineering or related technical field
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with project tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, SAFe, or equivalent.
