Job Title: International Tax Strategist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled International Tax Strategist to join our team. As an expert in global tax planning, you will be responsible for developing and implementing tax strategies that optimize our company's worldwide tax position.

Key Responsibilities:


• Global Tax Planning:

  1. Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize our global tax liability.
  2. Identify opportunities for tax savings and incentives across different countries.
  3. Advise senior management on the tax implications of business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.


• Tax Compliance:

  1. Oversee global tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and other indirect taxes.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and payments.
  3. Coordinate with external tax advisors and local finance teams to manage compliance in various jurisdictions.
  4. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on our company.


• Tax Accounting & Reporting:

  1. Oversee the preparation of tax provisions and disclosures in the financial statements.
  2. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., ASC 740, IFRS).
  3. Coordinate with the finance team to integrate tax reporting with financial reporting processes.


• Risk Management:

  1. Identify and mitigate tax risks through robust controls and processes.
  2. Manage tax audits and disputes with tax authorities, ensuring favorable outcomes.
  3. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date tax records and documentation.


• Team Leadership:

  1. Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of tax professionals.
  2. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.


• Cross-functional Collaboration:

  1. Work closely with finance, legal, and business units to support global operations and initiatives.
  2. Provide tax training and support to internal stakeholders.

Requirements:


• CA/CS/CMA/ACCA/CFA/CPA, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in international tax, with a mix of public accounting and corporate tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of global tax laws, regulations, and practices.
• Proficiency in tax compliance software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Africa exposure is must.
