Job Title: Hydraulic Engineer

 

  • Key responsibilities of this role include designing hoses and tubes, as well as creating mounting structures and brackets using Creo.
  • It is essential to ensure that hydraulic components are correctly placed in the layout of the machine and a thorough understanding of hydraulic systems and schematics is required.
  • The candidate should have strong knowledge in hose/tube assembly routing, material properties, and hose fittings.
  • A key part of this role is providing detailed interpretation of hydraulic schematics and troubleshooting on-machine hydraulic systems.
  • This position will support prototype, pilot, or production builds and perform on-machine hydraulic system tests.
  • Another responsibility of this role is validating hydraulics component selection and sizing.
  • The successful candidate must be able to perform bolted joint analysis and simulation using Creo or equivalent FEA analysis.
  • Effective application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) steps is also essential for this role.
  • A good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and Machine Bill of Material (BOM) is necessary.
  • This role involves performing design calculations and taking accountability for design decisions.
  • The candidate is expected to research and develop new technology and perform needs analysis and initiate ideas.
  • Evaluation of new products, processes, or systems is also an important aspect of this role.
  • The ability to communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units is crucial.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Participation in a Technical Society (SAE, IEEE etc.) is also desirable.
  • Certification in 6 Sigma Black Belt & PMP is highly valued.

  • Design Skills:
  • Experience with Creo software for designing complex structures and assemblies
  • Ability to create accurate designs and simulations

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent:

  • Pursuing or completed education in mechanical engineering or related field

Professional Certifications:

  • 6 Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • PMP Certification

Additional Requirements:

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
