Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) expert to perform modeling and analysis in support of contract execution and product development efforts.

The equipment to be analyzed will primarily include low NOx burners, overfire air and furnace systems as well as SCR and SO2 scrubber systems. The successful candidate will work with project teams to develop proposals, interface with clients, and execute contract and project analysis and reporting.

The candidate will develop and manage standard modeling practices for common equipment to ensure accuracy while being cost/schedule efficient. Additionally, they will be responsible for developing proposed development projects in the area of modeling and analysis to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CFD modeling and analysis
  • Develop standard modeling practices
  • Manage and develop proposed development projects
  • Support sales, proposals and marketing

Requirements:

  • PhD or Master's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on fluid flow and thermal analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with experience and/or emphasis on power generation industry
  • Fundamental knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, chemical reactions and combustion
  • Three to five years experience in CFD modeling, preferably applied to industrial problems
  • Working knowledge of low NOx burners and other environmental emissions control equipment
  • Proficiency in CFD modeling including reacting flow models, good knowledge of ANSYS CFD software
  • Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Minor travel required
  • Good oral and written communication skills
