About This Job

We are seeking an expert Search Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will design and implement cutting-edge search solutions using OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, including custom analysers, tokenisers, and scoring algorithms.

  • You will manage index templates, mappings, and lifecycle policies to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability.
  • Your expertise in query pipelines will enable you to develop tailored solutions for complex business requirements.
  • Leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), you will enhance data enrichment and improve search relevance.
  • You will develop robust APIs for search using Python (FastAPI) and lead integration, regression, and performance testing efforts to ensure reliability and accuracy of search features.
  • Automation of deployment and management of search infrastructure is also expected.

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch in production environments.
  • Expertise in Python, preferably building APIs using FastAPI.
  • A deep understanding of search concepts, including analysers, tokenisers, relevance tuning, custom scoring, and query DSL.
  • Experience with index template management, lifecycle policies, and large-scale data modelling.
  • Proficiency in designing and optimising search pipelines and custom query builders.
  • Hands-on experience developing software using AI-assisted tools and workflows.
  • Strong testing background: integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • DevOps skills: automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with S3, AWS Lambda, and cloud-native architectures.
