Job Title: Director of Innovation

Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Innovation to lead our Research and Development function. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of driving innovation, product development, and technical excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director of Innovation will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision:
  • Define and implement the R&D strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize research projects and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop business cases for new product innovations and improvements.
  • R&D Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the R&D team.
  • Oversee new product development, formulation improvements, prototyping, and testing.
  • Monitor R&D budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure IP strategy (patents, trade secrets) aligns with research outputs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure product readiness and market fit.
  • Translate R&D outcomes into commercially viable offerings.
  • Facilitate technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Stay up to date with scientific, technological, and market trends.
  • Ensure documentation, certification, and audit-readiness of R&D processes.
  • Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, science, technology).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of driving innovation and product development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
