Language Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Language Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between stakeholders and our engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate a variety of content (e.g., Automotive manuals, presentations) from English to Japanese and vice versa.
  • Produce and edit transcripts in line with our transcription style guide.
  • Evaluate translations for accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., content creators, marketing, legal) to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Maintain and update translation memory tools, glossaries, and style guides.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English and Japanese, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of grammar, sentence structure, and the relationship between spoken and written language.
  • Japanese language certification at B1 or B2 level (JLPT N2 or N3 or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a professional translator or in a similar role (typically 2+ years preferred).
