Job Opportunity:

 

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to oversee the management of our databases. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal database performance by analyzing database issues and monitoring database metrics.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to manage production SQL-based and NoSQL databases, ensuring seamless data integration and scalability.
  • Manage mission-critical high transaction rate databases, including configuration, administration, monitoring, security management, performance optimization, replication, troubleshooting, and backup of both traditional SQL databases and NoSQL databases.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade nodes in high availability customer production clusters, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting in the production environment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Contribute to evolving design and architecture of reliable and scalable infrastructure, aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Develop processes, tools, and documentation in support of production operations, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs.


Requirements:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in design, maintenance, and administration of NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB) and traditional SQL-based databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Percona)
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in designing, maintaining, and administering large-scale databases with high traffic and transactional volumes
  • Experience managing message bus infrastructures strongly preferred, leveraging technologies like Apache Kafka for real-time data processing and event-driven architectures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a demonstrated track record of evangelizing technical best practices with databases/data intelligence platforms
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience required
