Job Title: Machining Operations Manager

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Machining Operations Manager to lead our CNC shop floor team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining operations, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily production of high-quality parts on 5-axis VMCs, HMCs, and grinding machines to meet customer deadlines.
  • Develop and implement efficient workflows and production schedules to optimize machine utilization and minimize downtime.
  • Supervise a team of skilled machinists, programmers, and operators to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards (ISO 9001).
  • Monitor production KPIs and generate reports on productivity, efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory/management role in a CNC machine shop.
  • Strong expertise in 5-axis CNC machining processes, tooling, and CAD/CAM software.
  • Excellent understanding of CNC programming and operation.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with 5-Axis machining/aerospace industry highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • ISO 9001 quality systems knowledge.
