About the Role

This position involves overseeing land acquisition activities for wind projects. Reporting directly to the Head of Project Development, you will play a crucial role in creating a land pool and pipeline for under construction wind projects.

  • Provide support for project development activities and collaborate with different departments for land acquisition and related tasks.
  • Identify suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, focusing on primary states.
  • Ensure adherence to statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and other related approvals.
  • Assess risks in land acquisition and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Lead legal due diligence (DD) and documentation with internal/external lawyers, ensuring clear and marketable title of the potential land before acquisition.
  • Participate in drafting, finalization, getting execution of Sale/Lease Deeds and such other agreements.
  • Cross-functional collaboration is necessary to ensure seamless land acquisition for wind energy projects.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Manage interactions with local agencies and stakeholders to facilitate smooth acquisition and usage of lands for wind energy projects until commissioning.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders for successful project implementation.

We are looking for an experienced candidate who can lead our land acquisition efforts.

  • A minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in land procurement/acquisition for Wind and/or solar projects is required.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects and land acquisition is essential.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects is desired.
  • The ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks is important.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to execute land procurement targets, plans, and project development activities are necessary.
  • A results-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills is expected.
