Job Role

Technical Support Specialist 2

This position is for a Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) role, supporting Juniper M/T/Mx/PTX/ACX series products.

  • Leverage your expertise to provide Level 2 and Product Escalation support.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners globally, working directly with them to resolve issues.

You will troubleshoot complicated hardware and software problems, replicate customer environments and network issues in the lab.

  • Manage and own critical customer escalations.
  • Communicate effectively among customers, escalation, and engineering teams.
  • Be a customer advocate for timely resolution of reported problems, understanding environment/network impact on business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot large IP networks, preferably Service Provider experience.
  • Directly interact with customers globally, providing excellent communication skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with newer technologies, enhancing your skills as a fast learner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science, with 2-5 years of experience in supporting or designing IP networks.
  • Extensive work experience in Troubleshooting, implementation, and support of large IP networks.

Primary Skills

  • Excellent customer handling and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of IP Packet flow, OSI layers, Layer 3 - IP and related technologies.
  • IP routing protocols, Layer 2 technologies, and multicast technologies.
  • Perl/Unix/Expect scripting experience.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in Troubleshooting, implementation, and support of large IP networks.
  • Platform knowledge: Juniper routers, switches, Cisco, Nortel, Huawei, traffic generators, protocol analyzers, testers.
