Mainframe Storage System Engineer

Are you a storage expert looking for a challenging role? We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage System Engineer to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the latest mainframe storage subsystems, ensuring their availability, reliability, and performance. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining these systems, as well as performing storage capacity planning and provisioning to meet current and future storage requirements.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management, as well as expertise in storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm. Knowledge of storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning, is also highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain mainframe storage subsystems
  • Perform storage capacity planning and provisioning
  • Configure and manage storage management software and utilities
  • Monitor storage performance and resource utilization
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery and data replication solutions
  • Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, and application teams
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management
  • 8+ years of experience with storage management software and utilities
  • 8+ years of experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Technical V2 or equivalent certification
  • 5+ years of experience with mainframe virtualization technologies
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing DevOps practices and tools
