Lead the development of sophisticated sensor and actuator models for simulation environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-fidelity plant models using Simulink or equivalent tools to replicate real-world behavior.
  • Design seamless integration architectures for models in various platforms.
  • Establish and maintain standards for model consumption across platforms.

Data Acquisition & Characterization

  • Oversee data collection efforts from physical devices to validate and characterize model performance.
  • Analyze diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model accuracy.

Testing & Validation

  • Develop test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements.
  • Evaluate model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions.

Change & Release Management

  • Manage the model lifecycle, including enhancements, documentation, testing, and technical support.
  • Ensure traceability and version control across updates.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with suppliers, hardware, controls, and diagnostics teams to gather and align requirements.
  • Balance short-term and long-term modeling fidelity needs between in-house and supplier-based solutions.
  • Harmonize virtualization requirements across domains.

Requirements Definition

  • Define virtualization requirements for modeling, hardware, controls, and supplier ecosystems.
  • Translate calibration differences into robust model design strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in model-based development, preferably in the automotive domain.
  • Proficiency in Simulink, MATLAB, and other modeling tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and diagnostics.
  • Experience with simulation environments and workflows.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and sensor/actuator hardware.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with vehicle calibration and its impact on model fidelity.
  • Exposure to automotive communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of change management tools.
  • Ability to work across global teams and manage supplier interactions.
