Senior Software Engineer in Linux Systems

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team and lead the design, development, and validation of critical embedded software components for Linux-based systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Linux kernel and user-space, with experience working on Qualcomm platforms.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware, systems, and test engineers, to deliver integrated system solutions. You will be responsible for designing and developing complex software programs using advanced software engineering techniques, customizing and optimizing sophisticated software solutions, and leading the implementation of software sub-systems for large-scale products.

In addition to technical skills, we are looking for someone who can communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop complex embedded software programs using advanced software engineering techniques.
  • Customize and optimize sophisticated software solutions to meet specific performance, cost, and timing constraints.
  • Lead the implementation of software sub-systems for large-scale products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated system solutions.
Requirements:
  • Domain expertise in Linux distributions (e.g., Yocto, OpenWRT, Debian).
  • Hands-on experience across the Linux stack: kernel, user-space, file systems, and process management.
  • Familiarity with bootloader, kernel debugging, and diagnostic tools (e.g., GDB, strace, dmesg, system logs).
  • Strong understanding of Linux security, networking, and user management.
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and virtualization technologies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 6+ years of software engineering experience.
  • OR Master's degree and 5+ years of experience.
  • OR PhD and 4+ years of experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
