Expert Jira Administrator

The primary role of a Jira administrator is to oversee and configure the overall performance of Jira environments, ensuring they meet project tracking, issue management, and agile workflow requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Configuration Management
    • Establish and maintain Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and custom fields, adhering to set standards.
    • Administer Jira user accounts and groups, ensuring proper access and security controls are in place.
    • Integrate Jira with tools like PowerBI, Python, and Jenkins for enhanced reporting and automation capabilities.
  • Workflow Issue Management Optimization
    • Create and manage various issue types, screens, and field configurations to streamline processes.
    • Implement tailored workflows to meet specific project needs, ensuring seamless transitions between stages.
    • Monitor and manage review cycles using Jira for multiple stages, including Supervisor Review, SME Review, DRA Review, and Author Rework.
  • Automation Scripting Development
    • Configure automation rules for notifications, transitions, and field updates, maximizing efficiency.
    • Utilize scripting tools and plugins to enhance Jira functionality and improve productivity.
    • Example Jenkins integration for automated test result uploads and logging in Jira.
  • Dashboard Reporting and Data Analysis
    • Design and develop dashboards and reports for stakeholders using Jira and integrated tools, providing valuable insights.
    • Export and analyze EPIC-level data for planning and implementation tracking, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • User Support and Training Services
    • Provide comprehensive support to users on Jira best practices and usage, addressing queries and concerns.
    • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to ensure effective knowledge transfer and adoption.
