Job Overview

We are seeking a senior backend engineer to design, build and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining high-performance backend systems.

This role demands strong coding expertise, system design skills and experience in building high-performance backend systems.

  • Design scalable, secure and high-performance backend services and APIs
  • Implement server-side logic, databases and data storage solutions
  • Optimize database schemas, queries and indexes for efficiency
  • Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks; implement caching and load balancing
  • Ensure backend security against common threats (SQL injection, XSS etc.)
  • Collaborate with frontend, DevOps and product teams
  • Mentor junior developers and ensure coding best practices
  • Develop and run unit, integration and performance tests
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues and maintain uptime reliability
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go or Rust is required. Additionally, strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis is essential.

Expertise in RESTful and GraphQL API design, knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes is also required. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP and CI/CD pipelines is necessary.

Solid understanding of Git, version control and branching strategies is essential. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills are also required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures is preferred
  • Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Memcached is preferred
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform / Ansible is preferred
  • Exposure to frameworks such as Django, Flask, Spring Boot, Go Micro is preferred
