About the Job

This role involves partnering with program managers and service delivery teams to plan, architect, and guide complex infrastructure deployments and migrations for large enterprise customers moving from on-premises VMware environments to Azure VMware Solution.

You will work directly with customer application infrastructure and security stakeholders to define requirements, strategy, and processes for successful design, deployment, and migration. Additionally, you will maintain knowledge of the latest Azure AVS and VMware products to propose designs to customers and act as a subject matter trainer for other specialists.

Your responsibilities will also include sharing knowledge with others through solution documents, engaging technical communities, building automated self-help solutions, and creating training materials.

Requirements
  • Relevant experience in architecting and designing data centre and cloud infrastructures using VMware and Microsoft technologies.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience designing and developing solutions using VMware's Core Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Required skills and qualifications:
  • Azure VMware Solution.
  • VMware vSphere 6.0 and above.
  • VMware NSX network virtualization technologies.
  • NSX edge services: DNS, DHCP, Gateway, Firewall, Distributed Firewall.
  • NSX implementation.
  • NSX migration from VLAN or NSX-v.
  • VMware vSAN.
  • VMware HCX Advanced Enterprise.
  • Preferred VMware Site Recovery Manager, vSphere Replication.
  • Preferred VMware management suite: vCD, vROps, vRNI, vRLI.
  • Preferred VMware Cloud Director.
  • Experience with on-premise to Cloud or Cloud-to-Cloud migrations with VMware HCX.
  • Experience with relevant Azure technologies like:
  • Azure ExpressRoute and Azure VPN.
  • Azure Virtual WAN and Azure Route Server.
  • Azure networking.
  • Preferred Azure Disk Pools and Azure NetApp Files.
  • Preferred Azure Monitoring and Security technologies: Monitor Arc Security Centre.
  • Preferred 3rd party network virtual appliances, firewalls, load balancers, routers for Azure and VMware environments.
  • Strong core platform architecture concepts including hardware platform, hypervisor, Networking, security, data protection, high availability, monitoring, ing patching, etc.
  • Familiarity with security compliance standards across a variety of enterprise IT landscapes.
  • Experience with Azure Hosting or Infrastructure background and public cloud highly desired.
  • A good understanding of data centre networking fabric topologies and common architectures deployed both Layer 2 and Layer 3 based is highly desired.
Qualifications
  • BS or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or technology-focused discipline or equivalent experience.
  • VCDX, DCVC, MA certification is preferred but not required.
  • CCDP, CCNP, VCP-NV certification is preferred but not required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with enterprise customers on Azure-specific solutions and deployment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with corporate customers, possess an understanding of the onboarding process, and demonstrate a vision for the future.
  • Excellent customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged customer situations to lead projects and to motivate others.
