Improve your skills in underground powerline design with a challenging role that requires a proficient and innovative designer. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Transmission & Distribution team.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience with a Diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or 6-8 years with an ITI in Electrical or Civil Engineering. They will be responsible for preparing designs and drawings for underground powerline projects using software such as Civil 3D, MicroStation, and ArcGIS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting: Prepare detailed designs and drawings for underground powerline projects, perform QA/QC reviews of pulling calculations, alignments, and design standards.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Coordinate and oversee the workload of junior staff, mentor and train them to improve their technical skills and project deliverables.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables in parallel, prioritize work effectively and find solutions to complex problems.
  • Innovation & Compliance: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field, identify optimal methods to perform design tasks and ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: A Diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering with 3-4 years of experience or an ITI in Electrical or Civil Engineering with 6-8 years of experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Civil 3D or MicroStation for creating plan profile drawings, knowledge of underground powerline construction methods and concepts related to easements, right-of-way, and permitting is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong analytical capability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to travel as needed to meet project requirements.
