Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Virtusa. As an SRE, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable cloud-based infrastructure to support our mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain middleware such as Kafka and MQ, as well as application servers like Tomcat.
  • Manage Hazelcast Data storage platform clusters and Control M job schedulers.
  • Provide GCP and private-cloud operational support, including provision, capacity management, reliability management, monitoring, and restoration.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters, monitoring, and remediation, with a strong understanding of Docker.
  • Automate deployments and script self-healing workflows based on telemetry.
  • Define SLIs and configure SLOs, respond to threshold alerts, and optimize monitoring capability.
  • Work with code and configuration artifacts to debug and fix issues.
  • Apply SRE practices to daily operations and develop proof-of-concept solutions to optimize reliability.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an SRE, covering integration platforms on cloud-based deployments.
  • Coding experience in any programming language, particularly for integration tier and middleware.
  • Working experience in a 24x7 operations support model for mission-critical applications and infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD tool-chains, deployment pipelines, and environment propagation.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow, AppDynamics, and Splunk for monitoring and observability.
  • Computer Science and/or Engineering degrees are preferred.
  • SRE Foundation certification by DevOps Institute or equivalent is mandatory.
  • CKA certification and GCP Cloud Digital Leader certification are also required.
