Accounts Payable Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in financial software and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced corporate environment.

This is a remote position based in India, and we are looking for someone with a minimum of 4 years of experience in accounts payable or a related financial analyst role.

• Responsibilities include managing accounts payable functions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and updating the accounts payable ledger, as well as preparing and distributing regular financial reports.

Key qualifications for this role include proficiency in QuickBooks, knowledge of Canadian taxes, and experience with vendor payments.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.

In addition to these technical skills, the successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.

This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The following responsibilities are associated with this role:

• Invoice Processing: Verify, process, and reconcile vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
• Expense Analysis: Analyze and monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including expense summaries and aging reports.
• Vendor Management: Maintain and manage relationships with vendors, addressing any payment issues or discrepancies promptly.
• Data Management: Ensure accuracy of financial data by maintaining and updating the accounts payable ledger.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.

The following requirements must be met for consideration:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• QuickBooks experience
• Knowledge of Canadian taxes – HST, PST, PD7A, ROE
• Experience with Canadian full-time employees – Federal Tax, Provincial Tax, CPP, EI
• Experience with vendor payments
• Meticulous in verifying invoices from vendors/consultants prior to processing the payments.
• Experience with MS Excel, Pivot and scripting (VLOOKUP)
• Work during ET hour 8AM – 5PM with breaks – 8hrs/day
• Ability to work from 7AM – 4PM ET every Wednesday as this is the payment processing day every week.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounts payable or a related financial analyst role.
