Job Description

The role of Chief Engineer entails leading the engineering, commissioning, and operations of a biofuel/biogas facility. This individual will oversee the entire lifecycle of the plant from design handover to steady state operation, ensuring safety, reliability, and top-quartile performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end commissioning leadership for plant setup, including utilities readiness, pre-start checks, start-up, performance ramp-up, and stabilization.
  • Technology verification through diligence and validation of process technologies/vendors, encompassing pilot data review, PFD/P&ID checks, HAZOP actions, FAT/SAT, performance guarantees, energy/mass balance, and lifecycle OPEX.
  • Leads daily plant setup and operations to targets, focusing on throughput, yield, methane purity, and uptime.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must-have qualifications include extensive experience in leading plant setup/commissioning and operations in biofuel/biogas/CBG or closely related continuous-process industries.
  • Proven technology evaluation/verification experience, including vendor due diligence, guarantees, trials, and acceptance testing.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation areas, such as compressors, blowers, agitators, PSA/membrane, analyzers, HT/LT equipment.
  • Solid command of EHS, environmental norms, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated team leadership, stakeholder management, and crisp communication.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
