Job Description:

As a Web Engineering Manager, you will lead the development of scalable and maintainable solutions for our existing websites. This involves driving new development efforts, guiding team members, and ensuring proper integration with our content management system.

You will provide high-level direction on front-end architecture and technical design/implementation of our websites. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining overall performance while ensuring compliance with current standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Lead the building of scalable and maintainable solutions for our existing websites, using modular and reusable components.
  2. Drive, guide, and direct new development efforts for our component-based website systems, ensuring integration with our underlying content management system.
  3. Provide high-level direction on front-end architecture and technical design/implementation of our websites.
  4. Maintain and improve overall performance of our websites while ensuring compliance with current standards and best practices.
  5. Review team's designs and provide feedback on deployment safety, resilience, scale, performance, and security.
  6. Facilitate feedback and discussions with Product and UX Design on customer needs, user experience, implementation efficiency, and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of extensive experience with Drupal (e.g., Drupal 7/8/9) architecture, APIs, and module development.
  • Proficiency in the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js).
  • Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, and potentially microservices architecture.
  • Experience with website Search technologies and solutions like OpenSearch, Solr, and Elastic Search.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
