Job Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Lead the development of credit strategy to drive the GTM strategy, customer eligibility, and limit/exposure decisions through customer loan life cycle\
  • Collaborate with Africa business and product team to develop and optimize customer journey and ongoing communication to drive uptake, usage, credit education, and repayment across multiple digital channels (SMS, USSD, OBD)\
  • Manage external debt collection agencies and optimize direct debit rules to drive collection effectiveness for delinquent customer segments and optimizing collection offers\
  • Establish a framework for measuring periodic performance of existing strategies\
  • Ensure Portfolio P&L KPIs are met and maintain closed-loop governance with banks & telcos to set and deliver on KPI targets\
  • Develop portfolio tracking metrics and design reports leveraging existing tech team\
  • Coordinate with partner team for due/overdue PDD process. Implement solutions to keep portfolio healthy interfacing data science, product, and business operations team\
  • Identify new customer segments and product constructs and propose revenue enhancement opportunities\
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to develop and implement a “Test & Learn” agenda to continuously test new product constructs, refine offers, and optimize the marketing effort/budget across the customer life cycle\
  • Define underwriting strategy & exposure management and own portfolio KPIs for risk & revenue\
  • Experience in leading a 2-3 member analytics-driven credit policy team for specific markets/products; Provide functional guidance to the team\
  • Utilize data extraction using SQL, Python, and PySpark SQL (Big Data Hadoop/Spark Stack)\
  • Drive opportunities based on market potential, operational feasibility, and alignment with company goals\
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders\
  • Nurture strong relationships with key partners, including banks, telcos, and other ecosystem players\
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, providing insights and recommendations to inform business strategy\
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted solutions to drive business growth\
  • Showcase ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team\
  • Apply strong organizational skills, prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines\
  • Demonstrate expertise in portfolio optimization, risk management, and credit strategy development\
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills\

  • No prior knowledge of Africa necessary, but a willingness to learn and grow\

The estimated salary for this position is between $90,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
