Senior Storage Specialist

This is a challenging role for an experienced Senior Storage Specialist to manage the day-to-day administration of SAN and storage environments. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing Hitachi storages and Brocade switches infrastructure.

  • The key responsibilities include:
  1. Storage Infrastructure Administration: Collaborate with Customer's storage support teams, participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for assigned tasks, design, operation, workflow, and issue resolution for the storage infrastructure.
  2. Capacity Management: Monitor storage subsystem and SAN switch capacity, perform capacity analysis, analyze performance data and trends, track existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth.
  3. Problem Resolution: Preliminary problem diagnosis and documentation, coordinate with Hitachi Global Support for incident resolution, investigate and diagnose raised problems or problem records for root cause analysis.
  4. Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with best practices from Hitachi Global Support and Company change management policies, interface with assigned Hitachi storage engineers to manage the implementation of all additional storage infrastructure and storage services.
  5. Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior admins, oversee the design, installation, configuration, and de-provision of storage solutions.
  6. Performance Management: Perform capacity tuning, provide remediation recommendations, IT service continuity management, including monitoring of disaster recovery solutions as it relates to SAN and NAS storage.

The ideal candidate should have 8 years+ experience in handling majority of activities mentioned in the scope above, strong verbal and written communication skills, and Hitachi Technical certification is desirable.
