IT Project Management Leader

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced leader to head our IT project management division. As a senior executive, you will oversee all client-facing IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, within scope, and aligned with client expectations.

This strategic role requires both technical expertise and exceptional leadership skills to manage a team of IT project managers and coordinate complex IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the IT project lifecycle.

- Foster strong, long-term client relationships through clear communication, managing expectations, and delivering high-quality results that align with client goals and business objectives.

- Oversee planning, budgeting, and financial management of all IT projects.

- Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets, identifying areas for cost optimization and implementing strategies to minimize unnecessary expenses.

- Track project financials, providing regular cost updates and recommendations to stakeholders.

- Collaborate with senior leadership and project teams to maximize project profitability.

- Analyze project costs, identify opportunities to improve margins, and drive initiatives that positively impact gross margin without compromising quality or client satisfaction.

- Ensure successful delivery of IT projects on time, within scope, and according to agreed specifications.

- Monitor and manage project performance, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure high-quality IT solutions meet both client and organizational standards.

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT project managers.

- Create a collaborative and high-performance environment, ensuring all project managers have necessary tools, resources, and training to succeed.

- Provide guidance on best practices, risk management, and client communication.

- Proactively identify potential risks and challenges impacting project delivery, cost, or client satisfaction.

- Develop and implement mitigation plans to minimize risks and ensure smooth project execution.

- Regularly communicate project status, financials, and any issues or changes to clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- 18+ years of experience in IT project/program management with a focus on client-facing roles and project delivery.

- Expertise in project cost management, budget oversight, and cost optimization strategies for IT projects.

- Strong understanding of gross margin analysis and experience in implementing strategies to maximize profitability.

- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale IT projects from inception to completion while meeting client requirements and timelines.

- Leadership experience in managing and developing project teams, focusing on performance and professional growth.

- Excellent communication skills, engaging with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to navigate complex project challenges.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

- PMP, ITIL, or equivalent project management certifications.

- Proven track record in optimizing gross margin on IT-related projects.
