Lead Procurement Strategist

The role of Lead Procurement Strategist is to drive the development and implementation of procurement strategies that align with business goals.

This involves setting up, driving, and overseeing procurement policies, processes, and governance structures. The ideal candidate will lead a team, ensure integrated procurement strategies, and drive continuous improvement efforts across the procurement function.

The successful candidate will have 14-16 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management operations, including 8-9 years as a process owner/solution architect. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) and an MBA/Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management are also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement COE AOP and Strategic Initiatives:
  • Accountability: Lead the setup and management of the Procurement COE Team and organization. Ensure the alignment of the COE objectives with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Capability and Competency Development:
  • Drive capability and competency development initiatives for the team.
  • Employee Engagement and Performance Management:
  • Implement employee engagement and performance management activities.
  • Group Wide Procurement Policies, Process, and Performance Management Framework:
  • Accountability: Build and review the Group-wide integrated procurement policies, focusing on optimization of DOP (Document of Procurement).
  • Define, Develop, and Implement:
  • Define, develop, and implement new procurement processes and governance models.
  • Functional Architecture and Data Flow:
  • Develop and manage the Functional architecture and Data flow for integrated procurement tools (SAP MM, SAP ENFA, SAP Open Text, MIDAS, Procure Tiger).
  • Innovation and Excellence:
  • Support the implementation of a continuous improvement culture within the Group Procurement organization.
  • Visual Procurement Analytics:
  • Build and leverage Visual Procurement Analytics dashboards and automated progress reporting tools.
  • Master Data Management and Governance:
  • Ensure accuracy and integration of procurement master data across SAP and other digital platforms.
  • Operational Governance Processes:
  • Design and implement operational governance processes for effective master data management.
  • Procurement Performance Framework and Benchmarking:
  • Define, develop, and implement the procurement performance framework (SLA/KPI, savings computation, measurement mechanisms).
  • MIS/Reporting Templates:
  • Develop MIS/Reporting templates for procurement performance tracking.
  • Process Transition and Stabilization:
  • Support the operational stabilization of eSourcing and centralized PR-PO processes.
Skill Requirements:
  • Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking:
  • Ability to analyze complex procurement challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Planning & Decision Making:
  • Capable of setting clear goals, making data-driven decisions, and ensuring their implementation.
  • Capability Building:
  • Lead efforts to build procurement capabilities, develop training programs, and promote team engagement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Any discipline, though Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • MBA/Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, specializing in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar fields.
Experience:
  • 14-16 years of total experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management operations.
  • 8-9 years of experience as a process owner/solution architect within the procurement or supply chain domain, especially in large multi-sector organizations.
