Job Title: Chief Financial Officer - Operations

About the Role:

The Chief Financial Officer - Operations plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial integrity, administrative excellence, governance compliance, and operational efficiency of an organization. This position is responsible for guiding multi-year budgeting, providing leadership on treasury management, sharing timely financial insights with programme leaders, and shaping financial systems and controls.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Financial Stewardship & Planning: Guide multi-year budgeting, provide leadership on treasury management, share timely financial insights with programme leaders, and shape financial systems and controls.
  • Donor Relations & Grant Oversight: Produce donor financial reports, conduct due diligence and financial reviews of partners and vendors, strengthen the financial management capacities of programme partners and grantees, and maintain robust documentation and audit trails.
  • Compliance, Governance & Risk: Lead statutory audits, develop a risk management framework, ensure all finance and operations practices adhere to relevant laws, and promote an organisational culture of ethical practice and transparency.
  • Operations, Administrative and IT Systems: Strengthen procurement, contracting, and travel processes, oversee day-to-day administrative functions, embed value-for-money principles across operations, continuously improve systems to make them responsive and user-friendly, and oversee IT functions and ensure compliance with relevant procedures and standards.

Requirements for the Role Include:

  • Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) with at least 12 years of experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership role. Company Secretary (CS) qualification is desirable.
  • Skills & Abilities: Mission-aligned finance leadership, regulatory fluency, data-driven planning, systems and tools expertise, people and partnerships skills, and clear communication ability.
