About the Role
We're seeking a skilled software quality engineer to join our agile team. As a key contributor, you'll ensure quality is driven into the development process from the requirements stage through to delivery. This involves promoting a 'shift-left' approach to testing, identifying, preparing, and executing tests as early as possible in the lifecycle.
As a representative of the customer and end-user experience, you'll drive software quality, advocating for the delivery of high-quality solutions. Your role will involve developing and evolving test frameworks using best-in-class tools and technologies.
You'll support testing at different levels of the test pyramid, including unit, integration, service, contract, and end-to-end testing. You'll also write and review test code to ensure high standards in terms of test coverage, resilience, maintainability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a cross-functional agile team to ensure quality is driven into the development process.
- Promote a 'shift-left' approach to testing, ensuring tests are identified, prepared, and executed early in the lifecycle.
- Represent the interest of the customer and the experience of the end-user during the delivery process.
- Develop and evolve test frameworks using best-in-class tools and technologies.
- Support testing at different levels of the test pyramid.
- Write and review test code to ensure high standards in terms of test coverage, resilience, maintainability, and performance.
- Perform manual testing when needed.
- Participate in agile ceremonies.
- Use appropriate metrics/KPIs to validate and report on software quality.
- Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team.
- Apply risk assessment methods to identify quality risks and impact.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance.
- Proficiency in Java/JavaScript.
- Extensive experience testing mobile platforms, specifically iOS and Android.
- Hands-on experience working with mobile test automation tools.
- Experience with IDEs such as VSCode, XCode, and Android Studio.
- Practical experience testing Webservices/RESTful APIs.
- Experience with iterative Lean/Agile methodologies.
- Prior experience with CI/CD tools.
- Knowledge of version control with GIT.
- Good understanding of approaches such as BDD, TDD, and ATDD.
- Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking, and resolving defects.
- Practical experience with public Cloud infrastructures.
- Prior experience working in the financial sector.

Salary
The estimated salary for this role is £85,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
