Job Title: Senior Engineer - Flood Modelling

Role Overview:

  • Oversee and manage flood risk projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive flood assessments.
  • Develop and mentor junior team members.
  • Resolve complex modelling issues and enhance technical expertise.
  • Coordinate project components, oversee resource management, and ensure effective communication of changes/modifications.
  • Collaborate with design disciplines to maintain project integrity.
  • Ensure compliance in project components for which you have responsibility, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies.
  • Liaise with team members, Project Manager, and client.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and Master's/M.Tech in Water Resources/Environmental Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Eight+ years of experience in flood modelling, alleviation schemes, and integrated ID/2D modelling.
  • Chartered professional or working towards chartership with an appropriate body (CIWEM, ICE).
  • Expertise in fluvial flood modelling using industry-standard software such as TUFLOW, ESTRY, FLOOD MODELLER PRO, and ICM InfoWorks.
  • Significant experience with GIS packages (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo).
  • Ability to lead and conduct Flood Risk Assessments.
  • Desirable: Experience in hydrological studies using methodologies like the Flood Estimation Handbook.
  • Desirable: Surface Water Management Plans and SuDS experience.
  • Desirable: Water resource assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, and Environmental Statements preparation.
  • A self-motivated, assertive individual capable of working under pressure, with excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Good report writing, interpersonal skills, and teamwork are essential attributes.
